The 1614 Society

As with most famous schools, Monmouth School for Boys has highlighted the idea of leaving money for a specific purpose in a will through a targeted legacy campaign sent out in June 2014 to former staff and to former pupils (over the age of 55).  In order to recognise those who have indicated their intention to leave a legacy in their will to Monmouth School for Boys the 1614 Society has been formed.

Members of the 1614 Society will be invited to ‘join’ by the Headmaster and will be given a silver badge of the School crest (which will only be available to Society members).

Members of the Society meet for lunch from time to time at school or in London at the invitation of the Headmaster and at the cost of the Development Office.  It is a way for the school to thank, during the legators lifetime, their tangible commitment to the work of the school.

The lunch is jointly hosted by the Headmaster of Monmouth School for Boys and the President of the 1614 Society. The current President is Sir Frank Davies who has been chosen from the ranks of senior OMs for his service to both Club and school.

The 1614 Society has been formed as part of the 400th Anniversary celebrations and had it’s first lunch in May 2013.
