Boarding

Each boarding house is supported by a team of dedicated and trusting staff whose main priority is to create a nurturing environment where pupils feel comfortable, happy and inspired to aim high in everything they do.

Pupils can lean on our school nurses, our Chaplain, our school counsellors, and their House Parents and Matrons for support of any kind, whether it be pastoral, health, social or academic. Parents can contact the boarding staff at any time if they have any worries or concerns.

If you wish to find out more about boarding, please contact Mr Alex Peace, Director of Boarding, at peace.alex@habsmonmouth.org

Monmouth School for Girls

Each day in Boarding is special as there is so much to share and be involved with.

We are delighted to share our boarding houses with over 150 girls from 25 different countries. Our aim is to ensure that each and every one feels welcome and supported and that all  the girls have an opportunity to contribute to boarding life.

Monmouth School for Boys

At Monmouth School for Boys we are justly proud of our boarding, having been voted Archant’s Best British Boarding School 2011 (in a vote by parents).

Every day in boarding is special as there is so much to share and be involved with. We aim to ensure that everyone feels welcome and supported and that all our boys have an opportunity to contribute to boarding life.

Students learn how to look after themselves, manage finances and prioritise time, without compromising their studies.

Although meals are still provided in the schools’ dining rooms, we encourage our students to use the house kitchens to make snacks and learn some basic cooking skills in readiness for university life and beyond.
