Pupils triumph at the Oxford German OlympiadMay 21st, 2019
Year 9 German pupils have triumphed at the 2019 Oxford German Olympiad.
This year’s theme was Tiere und Monster (Animals and Monsters) and students were required to produce a creative dialogue in German. Milly won joint first place in the task 1 (Years 7-9 category) of this national competition and Sophia was placed as runner- up.
Elise Hesling, a, co-ordinator of the Oxford German Network, congratulated the girls. She said: “they should be very proud of their achievements, especially considering that this was one of the most widely entered categories this year”.
The work of Amelia, Izzy, and Ellen Minty was also highly commended, along with a playlet, which was devised, written and filmed by Amelia, Hope, Holly and Sophia.
