Pupils and staff at Monmouth School for Girls celebrated St Catherine’s Day in a service at St Mary’s Priory Church.
Matt Roper, a journalist who founded Meninadança, a charity in Brazil, was the guest speaker at yesterday’s event.
Meninadança rescues girls from exploitation and has safe houses where, in part, it uses dance as a means of rehabilitation. St Catherine is the patron saint of the Haberdashers’ Company.
The choral items performed at the service were very extremely uplifting as were the hymns, traditional Latin Chant and the Haberdashers’ Company Grace.
