Monmouth School For Girls celebrates St Catherine’s Day

November 23, 2023

Students and staff at Monmouth School For Girls celebrated St Catherine’s Day in a service at St Mary’s Priory Church on Thursday afternoon.

The Service, led by the Chaplain, Reverend Clifford Swartz, opened with a humorous question and answer session with guest speaker, BBC sitcom writer and amateur theologian, James Cary.

The choral items at the service were beautifully uplifting as were the hymns, and the service was bought to a close with an instrumental solo from violinist, Eleanor Moore.

The service was followed by an afternoon of tea and cake back at the school, hosted by acting Head of Monmouth School for Girls, Mrs Rachel Rees.

James Cary held a session with the students where he shared jokes and observations mixed with theological insights in a bizarrely biblical blend.
