Monmouth School for Girls bagged two runners-up spots as they hosted the annual Welsh Lacrosse Rally in glorious conditions.

The school’s second and under-15 teams were in fine form, finishing second in their events, while the first team took third spot.

Formerly known as the South Wales Rally, the action-packed event was magnificent and the school’s sports field looked stunning in the sunshine on Saturday 14th September.

Monmouth’s first team achieved victories against Malvern St James and Cheltenham Ladies College and lost to Westonbirt and Shrewsbury.

They also put up an excellent fight against eventual winners, Moreton Hall, before slipping to an agonising one-goal defeat.

The school’s second team picked up fine victories against Cheltenham Ladies College and Malvern St James, drew with Moreton Hall’s third team and lost to Moreton Hall’s second team as they finished second in the section.

And the school’s under-15 team were also runners-up, to Moreton Hall.

The girls defeated Westonbirt and Cheltenham Ladies College but suffered a 6-4 loss against an impressive Moreton team.
