Six sisters from HMSG made school history this weekend when they took to the lacrosse pitch to represent the 1st XII against St Catherine’s, Bramley. Year 13s Laura, Alice and Christina were joined by their younger sisters, Year 11s Helena, Lucy and Brydie.  The elder siblings shone with Captain Alice and Vice-Captain Laura leading the goal-scoring whilst Christina was voted as Most Valuable Player.  Helena, Lucy and Brydie also had a great day and secured their places in the top tier for the rest of the season.  Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly, each pair of sisters prefer to play at opposite ends of the field.  Helena and Lucy work best in the defensive unit whilst Laura and Alice prefer to score goals and Brydie and Christina spend their time on opposing sides of the centre circle.  The siblings, who make up one third of the squad, said they enjoy the opportunity to train together and have the advantage of always having a partner to practise with at home.  Alice added, ‘It reinforces how much of a family our lacrosse teams are; cheesy but it’s true.  It was really special to play with Lucy and we weren’t afraid to give each other a little constructive advice!’
