Senior Lacrosse mini tour 2015

October 19th, 2015

After an early morning departure from HMSG, our first port of call was the South West Schools Lacrosse Rally hosted by St. Swithun’s in Winchester.  HMSG fielded 3 teams and we all had successful days.  Despite a slow start the 1st XII finished runners-up in the Division 1 after a losing a tight final against St Mary’s Calne 1-2.  The 2nds and U15s enjoyed a day of stiff competition and much was learnt in preparation for the rest of the season.

After a long day of lacrosse we headed to our hotel to relax and watch Wales play Australia in the Rugby World Cup.  Despite the result we were all still excited for the next event of the day:  go-karting.  We hit the track with huge amounts of enthusiasm and although there were a few crashes we finished relatively unscathed with vice-captain Mathilda taking first position on the podium after some impressive racing!

After a well-deserved sleep we woke up on Sunday morning ready for more lacrosse at St Catherine’s Bramley.  Each team had two matches and although we were all pretty exhausted from Saturday we managed to put up a good fight and score some great goals!  Our defensive units also held strong and we were all hugely proud of each other!  We headed home after a great weekend with lots of enthusiasm for the season ahead of us!
