A Monmouth School for Girls’ alumna, who empowers and encourages women in the investment sector, has secured an exciting promotion.

Abbie Llewellyn-Waters, who grew up in the Wye Valley, works at Jupiter Asset Management based in the City of London.

Ms Llewellyn-Waters has been promoted from Global Sustainable Equities Fund to the head of sustainable investing.

In her new position, Ms Llewellyn-Waters will be responsible for leading sustainable investing capability, while continuing in her role as manager of the global sustainable equity strategy.

She will shape best practice across the business and ensure a commitment to ESG as fundamental to its investment and corporate culture.

Ms Llewellyn-Waters, who is married with children, was a day girl at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools between 1986 and 1997.

As a successful global equity fund manager, Ms Llewellyn-Waters won two major industry honours in 2017.

Ms Llewellyn-Waters was a winner in Investment Week’s Investment Woman of the Year (large firms) and Fund Manager of the Year (large firms) categories.

The former Monmouth student was hailed for her drive and success as a fund manager and for her work on a framework for addressing the structural hurdles for women in the sector, including retention of performance track record following a career break.

After graduating from University College, London, Ms Llewellyn-Waters completed an Investment Management Programme at London Business School.

She joined Jupiter Asset Management in 2007.
