Over the weekend of 27th and 28th January, the Welsh Indoors Athletics Championships for Seniors and U15s took place in the NIAC arena in Cardiff. Our school athletes showcased remarkable talent and determination, bringing home impressive results.
John wins gold
A huge congratulations are in order for John B (Year 9) who soared to victory in the U15 category, winning a gold medal in the 300m event with a time of 10:32.06 on Sunday. Additionally, John also showcased his versatility by competing in the 1500m event on Saturday, finishing commendably in 7th place.
Henry wins silver
In the senior category, Henry E (Year 13) demonstrated outstanding performance in the 1500m event, taking home a silver medal. Just a week after representing Wales at the London International XC event, and despite being the youngest contender in his field, he pursued an experienced leading pack with significantly faster PBs. Henry finished 3rd with a time of 3:58.90, breaking the 4-minute indoor barrier. (Henry took the silver medal as the winner was a non-Welsh competitor).
