Prep II trip to Welsh Bicknor

May 18, 2015

After a short coach trip a group of very excited group of Prep II boys arrived at the wonderfully appointed Youth Hostel at Welsh Bicknor. They immediately threw themselves into a series of challenges and team building exercises.

After a hearty dinner they embarked on The Great Egg drop. The task was to design and make a container to protect an egg from a fall from the first floor window; fortunately a few eggs did survive. The group set off the next day on a five mile hill walk. The fantastic views from the top of Coppett Hill were well worth the effort and the dramatic scenery continued as the boys wound their way down towards the Wye at Yat Rock and back along the river bank to the hostel.

The evening was spent baking bread which was enjoyed the next day at breakfast. The last morning was all about working as a team as the boys were set tasks with the emphasis on communication and cooperation. The final ‘Water Bearers’ Challenge’ of negotiating a route around the Hostel ground, whilst carrying a jug of water.
