Staff at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools pounded the streets of Cardiff to raise more than £1,600 for charity.

A group of teachers and staff successfully completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity close to the hearts of the Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools’ community.

And the staff from Monmouth School for Girls, Monmouth School Girls’ Prep and Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery are grateful for the ‘tremendous’ support received.

“We have raised over £1,600 for the Teenage Cancer Trust which is more than we initially anticipated,” said Mrs Jennie Phillips, Headteacher at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.

“We have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support and are thankful to all the parents, friends and colleagues who have sponsored us.”

Mrs Victoria Taylor, a teacher at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery, added: “We all travelled down for the race together and had wonderful support throughout. The atmosphere was fantastic and the crowd definitely spurred us all on.”
