Music is the heartbeat and the lifeblood of Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools

We aim to provide a personalised and positive learning environment for students, within which they are able to achieve their full musical potential whilst developing transferable skills and a lifelong enjoyment of music. Every pupil is given the opportunity to learn an instrument, join a choir and participate in concerts throughout the year. Our pupils have had the privilege of singing and playing in venues across the world including the Vatican, St. Paul’s Cathedral, St. George’s Windsor, Westminster Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral and various locations across Spain, Morocco, France and Italy.

Monmouth School for Girls

Our aim in the music department is to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of different kinds of music and to fire up enthusiasm to look a little further. We hope that, through studying music, girls will develop broader life skills and attributes including critical and creative thinking, aesthetic sensitivity and emotional and cultural development.

We have many ensembles for Girls to join, including:

Monmouth School for Boys

Housed in the Glover Music School, our music department is generously resourced and includes an auditorium, ICT suite and numerous class and teaching rooms. Boys are taught by a team of nationally renowned players, with over 320 individual lessons taught every week.

We have plenty of ensembles for boys to join including:
