Linguists inspired by German lectures

February 10, 2016

German LecturesSixth-Form German students at Monmouth School and HMSG have been fortunate enough to attend two workshops recently on historical and cultural aspects of the German Democratic Republic. On Wednesday 3rd February a group of A2 students had the opportunity to attend a workshop at Cardiff University’s School of Modern Languages, which provided further valuable insights into Good Bye, Lenin!, the film that they are studying at A2. Ellena and Yeming both impressed with their thoughtful and insightful comments, with the latter gaining a well-deserved round of applause from all participants for his astute contributions. Then, on Monday 8th February, Debbie Pinfold from Bristol University offered a hugely beneficial workshop looking at history and memory of the GDR, which was attended by both AS and A2 pupils.
