Remembrance Services

November 12, 2019

On Sunday, the junior boarders attended a service led by Reverend Greaves at the Baptist Church, followed by wreath laying at the Monmouth town War Memorial – where our Brownies attended the procession and Martha laid a wreath on their behalf. On Monday morning our Head Girl and her Deputy joined their counterparts from the boys’ prep, and played a part in a very moving and atmospheric service at Monmouth School for Boys, where they had a chance to meet Shenkin IV – the goat who is mascot for the Royal Welsh Regiment. They also enjoyed refreshments in the library with the guests of honour, including the Lord Lieutenant of Gwent, pictured below. The final service of the day saw some of our Year 6 girls gathering at the statue of St Catherine where Mrs Miles watched Ellie and Immy lay the Girls’ Prep School wreath whilst Alice read a final blessing.
