Minecraft club: building new skillsDecember 7th, 2015
The 2015/16 academic year has seen the arrival of new and exciting clubs in Inglefield House. One of the newest clubs on the block is Minecraft Club. It’s not all just fun and games though, each week they have a new topic. This week is was pirates! The girls are then challenged to build a pirate on Minecraft using iPads in just 5 minutes.
We interviewed some of the girls who attend the club to find out what they think. “We get to build whatever you can imagine,” Lizzie from Year 6 told reporters. When we asked Bella in Year 4 why she thought Minecraft was so much fun she said, “Because you can build anything that you want!” Perhaps more importantly, we asked the girls what skills they thought that Minecraft club was teaching them. “It is teaching us about architecture,” Jasmine from Year 5 explained. I think it’s safe to say that this club is enjoyed by many and, in the words of Alicia from Year 5, “this club is great!”
