A group of Sixth Form students at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools have created a big splash.
Caleb, William, Daisy, Osian and Nathan have passed the RLSS Lifeguarding qualification during their Enrichment programme.
The Year 12 students are now The Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard-qualified to lifeguard in a swimming pool.
They have learned and demonstrated a variety of skills, including: Swimming pool supervision; Intervention and rescue, including casualties with suspected spinal injuries; Emergency First Aid at work; Management of Anaphylaxis; Automated External Defibrillation and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
“A huge thanks to Monmouth Schools Sports Club’s Mr Simon Bain, for training the students and arranging the assessments,” said Mr Nick Goodson, the Sixth Form Enrichment Coordinator.
