Three cricketers at Monmouth School for Boys were among the best 50 players in Wales for their age groups in a hugely successful festival on Sunday.

John, 12, Tom, 12 and Olly, 11, impressed as Monmouth School for Boys hosted the action-packed event for the under-11 and under-12 age groups.

Boys travelled from all over Wales for the Cricket Wales festival, which was played on two excellent pitches at Monmouth School for Boys’ picturesque sports ground, next to the River Wye.

Acting Headmaster, Mr Simon Dorman, and Director of Sport, Mr Andy Jones, were both impressed with the attitude of the boys and the high standard of cricket on display.

All three Monmouth students played with skill and confidence and can be proud of their efforts on a gloriously sunny day.
