Students enjoy half term in Nuremberg

November 5, 2019

In the first week of the October half term holiday, eleven Year 10 girls and two Year 10 boys took part in the German exchange with the Sigenagymnasium, Nuremberg. The pupils all stayed with families of pupils from the Sigenagymnasium and experienced German life and culture first-hand. In the mornings our pupils attended lessons with their exchange partners before activities in the afternoons, which included guided tours of Nuremberg and its castle and dungeons, a visit to the historical city of Würzburg, a tour of the Nazi party rally grounds and a bouldering session.

The Monmouth pupils thoroughly enjoyed mixing with their German counterparts and found that their German improved considerably during the week. All are looking forward to hosting their exchange partners for the return leg in June 2020.
