Set up looks busy for William Jones Debating Society

About sixty people from the combined Monmouth and Monmouth Girls’ Sixth Form collected last Friday for the third meeting of the William Jones Society this term.

The topic open for discussion was deeply rooted in medical ethics, but also had interesting economic and social implications, which were certainly explored in the debate as to whether the NHS “should treat people who have inflicted their own illness”.

A lively debate covered all sides of this complex and, at times, controversial argument, thus proving that intelligent, intellectual debate is definitely alive and well at both Monmouth School and HMSG. Well done to all who partook in this mature discussion of such a multi-faceted argument.
