A teenager at Monmouth School for Boys has been shortlisted in a national poetry competition.
Inspired by a solar fountain that he set up as a water feature in his garden, 13-year-old Dylan wrote his poem during the lockdown.
Dylan is a finalist in the 2020 Poetry of Science competition of IF Oxford, organised by the Oxfordshire Science Festival.
Dylan, who will be moving into Year 9 next month, is the youngest entrant in the Year 7-11 category.
The IF Oxford festival team coordinates a thought-provoking and interactive science and ideas event and received 600 poems this year.
