Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools hosted a fascinating evening with Professor John Lennox, an internationally renowned speaker on the relations of science, philosophy and religion.
Last night, a packed audience of pupils from the family of schools and area schools, as well as members of the public, enjoyed the discussion with Professor Lennox at Monmouth School for Girls.
People were delighted to hear from Professor Lennox on the intersection of faith and science, and posed questions to him during the event.
It was Professor Lennox’s first in-person event since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Schools’ Chaplain, Reverend Clifford Swartz, interviewed Professor Lennox.
Chapel Prefects Olivia and Max introduced the evening and thanked Professor Lennox on behalf of Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools.
Dr Huw Evans, Head of Mathematics at Monmouth School for Boys, was taught by Professor Lennox in the 1990s, and enjoyed a brief reunion with him last night.
Professor Lennox holds five degrees in mathematics and science from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, with an additional degree in Bioethics.
He taught for many years in the Mathematics Institute at Cardiff University.
