The Year 2 children were very excited to find out that they were going to be travelling all the way to West Wales for their Mystery Trip. Folly Farm offers a huge range of activities – too many to cover in a day, as it turned out. We started with a walk around the extensive zoo area, with the penguins, lions, giraffes and rhinos being firm favourites. After a play in the Pirate Adventure area and a picnic in the sunshine we headed into the barn to meet the farm animals. There was a good deal of oohing and aahing over the baby donkey and chicks in the hatchery, with the rats and cockroaches being less popular with some! We rounded off the day with an hour in the Victorian fun fair where the children impressed us with their bravery on the fast rides and driving skills in the dodgem arena.
