Mr Christopher Horner has been training hard for the challenge

A keen open water swimmer and accomplished violinist is all set to take the plunge for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Mr Christopher Horner, who teaches violin to pupils at Monmouth School for Girls and Monmouth Prep School, is tackling his seventh Castle 2 Castle Swim on Saturday 25th June.
Mr Horner, whose father was in the Navy, will attempt to navigate the one-mile open water sea swim, near Falmouth, across the Carrick Roads between Pendennis and St Mawes castles.
“All donations are for the training of and equipment for the RNLI volunteer force; an organisation that relies solely on donations and receives no government support,” said Mr Horner, a member of the Cardiff Masters Swimming Club.
“Many of us, or those we know, will need the RNLI’s services at some point, whether at sea or in the imminent rise of flood-related operations.”
