May 1st, 2013The Sunday Times, Best places to live in Britain has voted Monmouth in the top twelve in their Best for Schools category.
“In these days of austerity, school fees have become a serious source of concern. This makes Monmouth, which has some of the lowest fees in the country – £7,442 a term for boarding and £4,238 for days – a desirable option. As a bonus, it is conveniently close to the A40 and the M50.
Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls teams up with its brother school (which has a fearsome sporting reputation) for drama productions and an impressive array of A-level subjects. It is now building new classrooms, creating more play areas and improving the accommodation.
The town of Monmouth itself, meanwhile, offers everything you need.
Would suit Those who only want to move once – great schools for ages 3-18.
Property prices You can buy in from £175,000, but a nice pile could top £1m.”
