A 15-year-old athlete has stormed to a South East Wales County Championship title.

Olivia shone in her maiden 300m race at the county athletics championships at Newport Stadium.

The Monmouth School for Girls’ pupil dominated the middle girls’ race, showing exceptional stamina and confidence throughout.

Olivia, who is in Year 10, is now hoping to gain selection for the South East Wales team for the Welsh Schools Championships.

Olivia is a very keen sportswoman who excels at tennis and hockey for the school.

She also competed in cross-country last winter, gaining qualification for the Welsh Schools Championships.
