A kind-hearted sixth former has been recognised for devoting huge amounts of her time to helping others.

Victoria in Year 12 has been volunteering through Young Leaders, a local organisation in Blaenau Gwent, since she was 13.

She has gained Bronze, Silver and Gold Ambassador Awards working with young children in primary schools, helping out in a swimming club for people with disabilities, and coaching the local netball team.

Having been nominated this year as a finalist in three categories, including Ambassador of the Year and Inspire Volunteer of the Year, she won the award for Little Life Volunteer of the Year.

Victoria said: “I really enjoy giving children the opportunities I had when I was younger.

“I would recommend volunteering to anyone, it has really helped me grow as a person.”
