A stunning painting by an A level Art student at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools is taking pride of place in a popular burger restaurant.

Raine focused on the theme of food and culture for her A-level coursework and her eye-catching burger painting has been snapped up by The Pig & Apple, near Monmouth.

Jake Feakins and Jess Stephens, who run The Pig & Apple at Humble by Nature, bought the painting and Raine will be donating the money to the mental health charity, Mind.

“Jess and Jake loved Raine’s wonderful painting so much that they were desperate to have it permanently on their wall,” said Head of Art at Monmouth School for Boys, Mr Matt Peake.

“Raine is a big fan of their burgers, while Jake and Jess appreciated the skill involved from Raine and felt it was perfect for their business, which specialises in a range of amazing burgers.”

Mr Peake added: “This artwork will form part of the Art in Penallt 2021 festival, which takes place from August 28th to 30th, and work from other art students at Monmouth School for Boys will be featured too.”
