Talented young musician, Diana (Year 11), was honoured to receive a prestigious award at the recent South Glamorgan Festival of Young Musicians.

The Maid of Sker Plate is awarded to the best performer of all the harp sections in the South Glamorgan Festival competitions and was a delightful surprise to Diana, as she had already won the SGFYM Trophy for the Senior Harp category.

The concert featured prize-winners from all sections of the competition, both instrumental and vocal, and was of a very high standard indeed, as some of the performers are students at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The award to Diana rounded-off the evening perfectly.
