Woodland haven greets children on first day

September 5, 2019

Children at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery were greeted with a stunning woodland scene on their first day of the new term.

As part of the A Walk in the Woods study topic, children in reception are learning about geographical features, while Year 1 will widen their knowledge of animal classification, and Year 2 will be taught about hibernation.

“Our dedicated and hard-working team at Agincourt have spent a great deal of the summer break transforming the school into inspirational learning environments,” said Mr Matt Wren, Senior Deputy Head at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.

“It was lovely to see so many happy, smiling faces coming into school ready to embrace new challenges.”

Mr Wren added: “September is an exciting time for our children. They are embarking upon a new school year with eager anticipation and will forge new friendships, meet new teachers and learn new and inspiring things.”

Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools thank Millbrook Garden Centre for the loan of trees for the study launch.
