reception visit malpas fire stationJune 22nd, 2017
On Thursday morning the Reception classes visited Malpas Fire Station where they were treated to a terrific morning of learning on the job! To the children’s complete delight, they watched a car being sawn in half by a RTA rescue team. They saw a range of fire vehicles, including a particularly clever engine that could adapt from road to rail travel. All of the children had a chance to sit in the rescue boat, use the power hose and sit in the vehicles. Another big favourite was watching the firefighters abseiling down a building and also coming down the pole. A huge thank you to the team at Malpas, who juggled a very busy morning – and three call outs – with giving the children a really unique insight into their work.
