Creative children’s fabulous igloo build

April 18th, 2019

The weather might be getting warmer, but the creative children at a Monmouth school have been heavily immersed in the traditions of the Inuits.

The reception class at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery explored the living arrangements of people inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada, and Alaska.

To celebrate the term’s Pole to Pole study topic, the children collected hundreds of plastic milk cartons which they arranged and glued together using glue guns for a big igloo build.

Headmistress, Mrs Jennie Phillips, said: “As part of our creative curriculum, the Pole to Pole topic has been designed to bring geography to life for the children.

“The big igloo build was a great feat of engineering and we were most impressed with the children’s determination to complete the challenge.”
