As part of their topic work, Year 2 children kicked off the Lent term with a visit to Bees for Development. Based in Monmouth, the company has worked in more than 50 countries worldwide with a range of communities in order to help them earn an essential income, and promote simple methods of sustainable beekeeping; always using local bees and local materials.

Children were given the opportunity to ask a variety of questions, share their knowledge and find out the important part bees have to play in our ecosystems.
