As a part of their explorations of Africa Year 1 have been studying the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. As well as sequencing the story and learning about all the animals that appear in the book the children have investigated some of the exotic fruits that appear in the story. The children all had the opportunity to taste the fruits and recorded their responses carefully. They were then able to make their favourites into fruit kebabs. Very delicious and healthy too!
