Reception enjoyed a fantastic trip to Cardiff Castle on Tuesday. Our intrepid band of knights in training were challenged with a variety of tasks. including aiming for a moving target and tests of valour, concentration and teamwork. Sir Devlyn was in sterling form and kept the children (and staff) transfixed throughout. Luckily, we all survived the training and were sworn in as defenders of the castle. We took a guided tour of the newer part of the castle and marvelled at the ornate ceilings, gold leaf and murals. There was just enough time to investigate the trebuchet and try out the stocks before heading up to the original Motte and Bailey castle. We climbed the stairs to the very top of the keep from where we enjoyed some excellent views of our capital city.
