The Nursery children are fortunate to benefit from full use of the school’s facilities and resources. All of the school teaching staff undertake duties in the Nursery and soon become familiar to the children.
The Nursery children are included in school events, such as the school Harvest Service, watching class assemblies and shows and participating in whole school fun days. The children are all assigned to a House and are given the opportunity to build relationships with the older children in their team when taking part in House challenges.
As the school year progresses, some play times are spent in the main school playground where friendships with older children are established and the children become familiar with playground routines, duty staff and expectations.
The Reception teachers are frequent visitors to the Nursery classrooms and supervise learning opportunities for the children on a regular basis.
The seamless transition into full time school occurs naturally and is a major strength of the setting.
