Summer 2020 Week 2: 1/5/2020

Summer Term – Week 2

It seems incredible that we are already at the end of our second week of the Summer Term. This week, I found myself thinking about how education has changed over the years, it wasn’t that long ago that Agincourt had chalk boards in every classroom! However, I don’t think any of us could have predicted the tremendous shift that we have witnessed in the last few weeks. I continue to be amazed by how well the children have responded to the new platform, the range and standard of work that is submitted and the support and commitment offered by you.

As always, this week has been a hive of activity. Our Nursery pupils have been following the Hungry Caterpillar and making their very own Forest School trails. In Reception, children have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes in Maths and have learnt about magnetism in Science. Meanwhile in Year 1, pupils have been refining their letter writing skills and have constructed some rather impressive boats, which have undergone rigorous testing. In Year 2, there has been a distinct focus on well-being and in their Topic sessions, children have been learning about the various parts of an aeroplane.
