Michaelmas Term – Week 4

I was very pleased to visit both the Boys and Girls Prep schools earlier this week, to deliver an assembly and see just how well last year’s Year 2 children have settled into their new homes. It was a great pleasure to catch up with all the familiar faces and I was very impressed with how smart and grown up the children looked in their new uniform. Thank you for having me Monmouth School Girls’ Prep and Monmouth School Boys’ Prep, the singing was fabulous!

The second half of the week saw Mr Shaw, Mrs Phillips and myself setting off to Edinburgh for the IAPS Heads’ Conference. The children at Agincourt thought it was very funny that the Heads were all going back to school, so I reminded them that you are never too old to learn! The conference has given us much food for thought and some valuable time to reflect on our visions for our schools, and recognise our responsibility to continue to strive to optimise the whole school experience for children, staff and parents alike. However, despite some inspirational speakers, excellent seminars and being in such a beautiful city, I have really missed the children, so roll on Monday!
