Lent Term – Week 5

This week I would like to say a huge thank you to the Friends of Agincourt, and Mrs Anderson in particular, for all of their efforts in making the Burns’ Night Ball such a huge success. I am sure those of you who were able to attend will agree that it was an fabulous evening – with a little something for everyone. The dinner was excellent, the auction ran like clockwork and for just the right amount of time, and the ceilidh tempted even Mr Phillips onto the dance floor (where he hasn’t been seen since 1996). Those who prefer a more modern or freestyle approach to dancing (Mr Wren et al) then had their opportunity to take centre stage. A fantastic effort, well done to all of the Friends Associations for their efforts in organising this wonderful fundraiser.

This afternoon we invite the Governors who make up our School Committee to Agincourt for our termly meeting and a presentation of the parental feedback from RSAcademics. Our Year 2 children are off to the Prep Schools and having had a sneak preview of some of the activities on offer I am sure they are in for a treat.

This week the book of the week was ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort. This hilarious book, told in rhyme, seems to have equal appeal whether you are 3 or 7 (or even 45) and has been a big hit around the School.
