A vibrant and active Monmouth school has been shortlisted for a national award.

Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery has been recognised – along with only seven other schools from across the country – in the Best Independent Pre-Prep category.

Headmistress, Mrs Jennie Phillips, says Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery is a school where the magic is never far away.

“I was delighted to tell my staff that we have been shortlisted in the Independent Schools of the Year 2018 awards,” said Mrs Phillips.

“My team are so committed to providing a unique and exhilarating learning journey for the children bring a true meaning to the term ‘above and beyond’.

“We are also blessed with wonderfully inquisitive children and a hugely supportive parent body.”

The aim of Independent Schools of the Year 2018 is to highlight the quality of the student experience in independent schools.

The awards celebrate excellence in education across the country and are run by Independent School Parent.

Mrs Phillips said: “Whether it be a huge nest and giant egg appearing on the roof overnight, an enchanted forest suddenly springing into growth or a huge purple submarine coming into dock, the ability to suspend belief is essential to life at Agincourt.”

The judges will be meeting again later in the autumn to reach a decision on the winners and select highly commended schools from each category.

Mrs Phillips said: “My dedicated team offer a stimulating and challenging creative curriculum, designed to provide a broad foundation for future growth and equip children with the skills necessary to become confident independent learners.

“The whole school community is very excited that we have been shortlisted in this prestigious national competition.”
