ICT skills are taught through all areas of the curriculum with links being made to humanities subjects, mathematics, science and design technology. The school has a computer room with full wireless access, a full class set of iPads and laptops that can be made available to the children. Simple programming begins with the floor robot and instructions are sequenced to establish cause and effect as an introduction to coding. As well as experimenting with video and audio hardware children are taught useful study skills such as how to use search engines and retrieve, edit and save their work. Our aim is for the children to begin to become digitally literate – able to use, express themselves and develop their ideas through ICT as they become active participants in a digital world.
