Children get crafty with birds and bugs

November 6, 2020

Children built nests, bird feeders and bug hotels during a fun-packed Nature Week at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.

Pupils from Nursery to Year 2 also decorated seating in the initiative designed to encourage wonder and investigation skills.

“Working outdoors has always played an instrumental part in our learning at Agincourt,” explained Headteacher, Mr Matt Wren.

“It has been extremely humbling to engage with all the children and see the captivation on their faces and pride in their creations.”

Throughout the week’s activities, the children became more aware of their surroundings as staff taught them to appreciate nature and the local environment.

This project will now provide the children with a strong foundation for their science studies in the classroom.

Mr Wren added: “Our staff have spent many hours thinking creatively and preparing a plethora of resources to make our Nature Week a safe and successful sanctuary of learning for all our boys and girls.”
