We have a number of professional School Counsellors who give support to our pupils at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools. Counsellors support pupils with a wide range of issues and this support is in addition to the care given by our pastoral staff and not a substitute for it. During normal schooling pupils are sometimes referred for counselling by pastoral staff or may request it themselves.
During term time in the period of isolation, we will continue to make counselling available for pupils who need it via video conferencing. If you have any concerns about your child and feel it necessary to make a request for counselling for the Lent term, please use the appropriate e-mail address below to do this. A colleague will then reply to your e-mail to schedule the session. The service is open to pupils who have received it in the past, and to pupils who have never received counselling before, but where there is a perceived need. Please note that there is a limited number of sessions available, and sessions will be allocated according to urgency of need.
For pupils of MG and MGP, parents should email email@example.com
For pupils of MB and MBP, parents should email firstname.lastname@example.org
We ask that parents copy in the relevant Housemaster of Head of Year for MB and MG pupils, and the relevant Head for pupils of our prep schools to such requests.
Counsellors will call pupils at pre-arranged time via their school e-mail accounts on Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams. For Safeguarding reasons, we have a protocol which we ask staff and pupils who are in contact via videoconferencing to follow and a copy of this can be found in the Habsmonmouth Online section of the website. We ask parents to read it carefully before their child’s first session.
Please feel free to contact Mr David Edwards email@example.com via e-mail if you have any queries about this service.
