Update: 25th March 2020
There will be no bus service over the Easter holiday.
We recognise the importance of key workers and will be doing everything we can to support them during this difficult time.
We will be in touch with parents as soon as we have finalised the transport arrangements for the Easter period.
The list of jobs classed as key workers has been released by the UK Government. Click here to read the full list
Letter to key worker parents – 20th March 2020
The Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools will be staying open to provide essential cover for key workers during this national crisis.
The Government has stated in its latest advice:
“If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. That is why the Government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.”
All of our childcare provision will take place at Monmouth School for Girls. Our provision will be confined to this site based on medical advice, as it is a contained, site school, further from the town, with all the appropriate facilities for students from Nursery-Year 13.
The provision will be available from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday beginning on Monday 23rd March 2020.
School transport will be running as normal next week. We will run a skeleton bus service during the Easter holidays. We are looking at the most efficient bus routes based on the parental response to the survey. Please ensure you temperature check your child before putting them on the bus.
Drop off and registration will be in the Dining Hall and you should, therefore, access school via the main reception.
All children will be temperature checked by school nursing staff on arrival; any child found to have a temperature of 37.8 or above will be isolated in school and will need to be collected.
Breakfast will be provided at 7:30am for those of you who have registered for an early drop-off. Hot lunch will be provided and drinks and snacks throughout the day. There will be a hot supper at 5:30pm and final pick-up will be at 6:00pm.
Pupils can wear casual clothes and will also need the following:
- water bottle
- indoor and outdoor shoes to include one pair of trainers for sport
- warm waterproof coat
- laptop for self-directed study (only if you have one available)
For questions and enquiries regarding this provision please contact: email@example.com
For contact during the day please telephone: 01600 711100. For contact out of hours please call 01600 711153.
With best wishes,
James Murphy-O’Connor – Principal
