Nuremberg Exchange February, 2015

February 24, 2015

jjWAfter a most successful and enjoyable return leg of the 2014-15 Nuremberg Exchange, we bid farewell to our German guests at our annual ceilidh.  Pupils and guests had participated in a diverse range of visits and activities, ranging from a meeting with Welsh Assembly Member Nick Ramsay at the Senedd in Cardiff to slime-making with Mrs Clarke in the chemistry labs.  Under the guidance of Mrs Vickers, our guests prepared plates of delicious Welsh cakes.  Cadbury World remained a firm favourite, as well as a journey underground at Big Pit.  This was a group which got on very well together, with pupils organising their own paintballing activity at the weekend.  Our German guests were appreciative throughout.  The imposing HMSG main building was like Hogwarts and some of German girls liked the HMSG uniform so much (uniforms are not worn in German schools) they insisted on wearing their borrowed uniform throughout their stay.  Firm friendships have been formed and some of the participants are already planning to meet again in the summer holiday.  We look forward to the Exchange 2015-16.
