A musically-minded member of staff at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools performed in the town’s Agincourt Square at lunchtime today.
Mrs Marie Roberts-Watkins, the schools’ Health and Safety Manager, has been taking part in a violining-whilst-squatting challenge this month to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mrs Roberts-Watkins decided that, instead of violining whilst cycling this year, she would join the thousands of people doing 100 squats a day during November; but with a twist!
“I am currently at £944, which is absolutely astounding,” she said.
“I decided that if I were to reach £1,000 in donations, then I would go live on my Facebook page in the middle of Monmouth by performing during my lunch hour.
“I have been promised £250 if I were to do it in festive fancy dress.
“If I can manage to rope a few people in, this very generous person will give me an extra £10 per person up to 20 people.”
