Music teacher’s solo violin recital in St Mary’s Church

Christopher Horner’s solo recital at St Mary’s Church will be free for young people aged 18 years old and under

An accomplished violinist, who teaches at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, will be giving a solo recital in St Mary’s Priory Church later this month.

Mr Christopher Horner’s performing career has taken him throughout the UK, to Europe, Asia and South Africa with broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and South African TV.

His recital takes place on Sunday 21st November at 3pm and will feature well-known and lesser-known works for solo violin by Telemann-Fantasia No 7 , Rodrigo-Capriccio, Ysaÿe, Sonata No .3 Ballade, Bach-G Minor Sonata  and the Prokoviev Sonata.

He is looking forward to performing these works in Monmouth for the first time.

A passionate advocate of works for solo violin, Mr Horner teaches violin to pupils at Monmouth School for Girls and Monmouth Prep School.

Tickets for adults cost £9 each, while admission is free for young people aged 18 years old and under. Light refreshments will be served to raise funds for St Mary’s Church.
