Monmouth Prep School Shines at IAPS Swim Finals with Outstanding Performances and Personal Bests

June 12, 2024

On Saturday, 8th June, 10 Monmouth Prep School pupils travelled to the London Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the IAPS Swim Finals. Over 600 pupils nationwide competed to secure their places in the top 20 and make it to this prestigious event.

We had an amazing day filled with excellent results and unforgettable experiences for all our swimmers!

Highlights of the Day:
Jasper – U11 50m Backstroke: Finished 11th in a strong field.
Oscar – U11: Qualified 6th for the final and swam a superb race to claim bronze with a new PB of 32.14!
Morgan – U11 Mixed Class Para 25m: Achieved a new and impressive PB of 18.65 and won gold.
Caroline – U10 50m Backstroke: Had a fantastic heat, qualifying second for the final and securing silver with a new PB of 37.88.

After a swift lunch break, our relay girls were ready to shine. They knocked 11 seconds off their qualifying time with PBs for Year 6 Ottilie, Ffion, Nesta, Morgan and Year 5 Caroline, Efa, Lizzy and Clemmie. Unfortunately, we were disqualified due to a changeover, but there were many positives to take away from their incredible effort.

A fantastic performance all round – we are so proud of our swimmers!
