It is always terribly sad when we have to say goodbye to our Year 2 children and their families, but we certainly did it in style this year.
The children sang a selection of songs including ‘One More Step’, ‘Happy that I’m Me’ and a moving rendition of ‘A Million Dreams’ which left barely a dry eye in the house. The children also recited a poem that we had written for Mrs Clarke, who retires this summer after 15 years of dedicated service to Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep.
The prizes were awarded to all of the children by Mrs Jo Booth, School Governor, who also thanked her dedicated and creative team of teachers and support staff.
There was a final farewell to catering and break duty asistant, Carole Williams, who is also taking retirement this year.
The children sang beautifully and they spoke their words with such confidence. We know that they will grasp every available opportunity at the Prep Schools with both hands.
Goodbye and good luck, Year 2. We will miss you!
