Talented lacrosse players at a Monmouth school will be showcasing their skills with Wales on the international stage next month.

Monmouth School for Girls’ students Bethan, Elinor, Jena, Maya and Tats have been picked for the Home Internationals.

The Monmouth students will be joined by their PE teacher, Miss Laura Warren, who has been selected to play for Wales’ women.

Bethan is the vice-captain of Wales Under-19 A girls’ team and will be joined in the squad by Elinor.

Jena and Maya have been chosen for Wales Under-19 B girls’ squad, while Tats has been named as a reserve.

The annual lacrosse tournament takes place at Aldershot Garrison Sports facilities from 5th to 7th April and Wales will face tough opposition in England, Scotland and the guest nation, Germany.

Meanwhile, two fellow Monmouth students have been named in Hong Kong Under-19s girls’ training squad for a major tournament this summer.

Jane and Alexis will be vying for places in the Hong Kong squad for the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s Under-19s World Championship in Peterborough, Canada, in August.
